LeeAnna is a horse lover. She cares for her "kids" in the most loving way. So, when she asked me to do photos of her & her horses, I said "heck ya!" I'm so glad I did.

She is a horse trainer & jumper. Her whole life is horses. However, when her hubby gets back from another deployment in December, she'll have to spread her love out. We got some shots of just her that she'll send out to him. I think he'll adore them. :)

What a beautiful family. This sweet family flew in from North Carolina for senior & family pictures. Although the weather was 40 degrees & drizzling, it still made for some amazing shots! She wanted something different...something out of state...something in the beautiful state of Colorado! I don't blame her! How blessed are we that we get to live here? Help 4 Evan

Last week, I had the honor of having a photo shoot for Mr. Evan. This photo shoot was different than most that I have done. Evan is 4 months old and has a rare skin disease called Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN for short). This is a fancy name for a birthmark that has the chance of being pre-cancerous. Evan's Mommy (Debra) is in the midst of publishing a cookbook where the proceeds will go directly to Evan's surgery & care. She received hundreds of incredible recipes from friends, family & others wanting to support this sweet family. The cookbooks are $25 and can be purchased by going to his blog http://www.help4evan.blogspot.com/ Another way you can help is donate funds towards his medical costs. Also, PRAYER. His first surgery is this January in Chicago.

Heartbreak

Hey Friends-
As some of you may know, recently my Daddy was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease.
Huntington's Disease (HD) is caused by a mutation on a chromosome which eventually leads to the death of cells in the region of the brain that controls movement and cognitive control. Symptoms vary from person to person, even within the same family. At later stages of HD, every individual affected by the disease requires full time care. That means that HD impacts more than the person affected; it changes life for family, friends, caregivers, medical professionals who treat the HD patient.
Because of the mover and shaker that I am, I can't sit around and do nothing. I found the walk a couple weeks ago and was thrilled. However, at the same time I was sad. There were only 3 teams, which included our own. This is how it is with Huntington's...NO AWARENESS. This started my next mission - Start up a 5k for Huntington's in Northern Colorado. So keep your ears and eyes open. The plan is for May 2011 as May is HD Awareness month. Ironically, Dad was diagnosed in May.

Below are a couple of things..a video which is actually a public service announcement from Canada. The other is a widget that helps me in my efforts to raise money to find a cure. Here is a backup link for donating and a link to sign up on our team.

:: Calling all 2011 Seniors ::

Who: Picture Perfect Photography will choose TWO 2011 Seniors from each school. To be eligible, you must fill out the attached application, be an outgoing and motivated 2011 Senior, preferably involved your school & community. All applications must be submitted by May 30, 2010. Click on application below to enlarge, print & fill out.

What: Each chosen REP will get one Senior Session completely FREE! Each session will include multiple locations and unlimited clothing changes. After the session, I will print out 50 REP Cards with your photo and my contact info. {Some examples shown below}

All you have to do is pass out these cards to other seniors. For every senior who books with one of your REP Cards, you will get a $50 print credit & they will get a $25 one. If more than 5 seniors book with one of your REP Cards, I'll add on an 8x8 guest book (customized with your photos from your session and room for guests writing) for your grad party or an 8x8 Senior Album displaying all of the best shots from your Senior Session. Think you can do better than that? If you refer more than 10, you'll have earned 50 custom-designed graduation announcements by yours truly. Any REP that refers more than 10 seniors to me will be entered into a drawing of any style of iPod you choose!

So, let's say you refer 11 seniors...you'll have a $500 print credit, an 8x8 guest book or album, 50 custom-designed announcements & entered into a drawing to win an iPod of your choice.

What's More? I know you will want to show off your shots from your session on facebook or myspace...so you get 10 images to go up on your site!

In my post below, I had mentioned Relay for Life. If you don't know what Relay for Life is, it is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event. It is 1.5 days where people from all walks of life come together for the same reason...TO FIND A CURE FOR CANCER. Almost 6 years ago, my brother Josh was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Fortunately, they caught it soon enough and he, his wife and two beautiful children were spared from this ugly disease. Unfortunately, we have lost too many friends and family to count. It is a very touching & rewarding experience and I am so honored to be Loveland's Team Development Chair this year. Below you can find pictures of my brother, Josh..and a few others that show what Relay is all about! If you would like to donate in MY fight against cancer, click here to donate. After A Much Needed Vacation...Back to Work I GO!!

The morning after getting back from a 5-day camping trip, I had a photo shoot the next morning. Here are a few glimpses from this close-knit family. All three of them have such a love for the "Arts" that they wanted to incorporate some of the statues in their family photos.

Last week, I had the honor of photographing a War Hero, Josh & his family through an organization that I am proud to be part of. The organization, Operation Love: Reunited is a group made up of photographers who donate sessions and albums to Warfighters - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines - who are deploying for an overseas tour of duty, already deployed overseas, or returning home from an overseas deployment. Here is what I got to do...

Make sure to THANK a soldier every chance you get.

I have the exciting opportunity to do something for our service men/women & their families! A non-profit organization called Operation Love: Reunited (based out of Denver) is an organization where professional photographers offer their services free of charge and throw in a photo album and photos free of charge to those being deployed and the families that are waiting at home. Whitney made my job sooo easy during her Senior Photo Shoot.
She was comfortable with the camera and oh so photogenic.

We went to three different locations for the shoot, which lasted about 2.5 hours.

First to Benson Park, then to my wonderul In-Law's property, then to V. Smith Park.She also invited her BFF Chelsea along for the shoot.
